Segment & gather personalization
Clean and segment the list, and pull the data points that make outreach personal at scale.
You've got companies, decision-makers and verified emails. The final step before outreach is making the list send-ready: cleanly segmented, with a personalization hook for each contact. This is what turns a raw list into booked meetings.
Segment the list
Don't send one generic message to everyone. Split the list into tight segments so each can get tailored copy. In Scrupp, keep each segment as its own list, or save a filter set as a reusable segment and switch between them from one place:
- By role — a VP of Sales and a founder care about different things.
- By industry / sub-niche — speak their language and reference their world.
- By company size — the pain and the buying process differ.
- By signal — "hiring SDRs", "recently funded" → a sharper, timely angle.
Tighter segments mean higher reply rates and better deliverability (varied, relevant copy looks less like spam).
Let the data sort the warm ones
Two things on each contact row do the prioritizing for you:
- Signal badges sit right next to the name — job change, promotion, new funding round, hiring, "open to work" and more. Each is a ready-made, timely angle for your opener.
- Lead score rates how complete and reachable each contact is, so you can work the strongest rows first.
Filter the list by signal (or by "has signals") to pull your warmest leads into their own segment.
Add a personalization hook
One specific, true detail per contact proves you're not blasting. You don't need a paragraph — one relevant line. Fast sources:
- The company's site / what they sell, and an obvious pain your client solves.
- A recent LinkedIn post or company news (funding, launch, hiring).
- The role-specific challenge ("scaling outbound", "filling the pipeline").
- Scrupp's AI enrichment — add a custom column with a prompt like "what might this company struggle with around [your client's area]?" and get a per-contact hook written for the whole list at once.
Your send-ready columns
Export a sheet/CSV where every row has:
- Company + website · Person + role · Verified email · LinkedIn URL
- Segment (which sequence it gets)
- Personalization hook (the one specific line)
- Tracking: channel, touch count, last contacted, status
Scrupp gives you the first row of fields straight from the previous lessons; you add segment + hook.
Keep batches small and focused: 150 perfectly-segmented, verified contacts with a real hook each will get you further than 1,000 generic rows you'll never personalize — and they protect your sending reputation.
This is the engine's output
This clean, verified, segmented list is what the rest of the business runs on. In Module 5 you'll turn it into replies and booked meetings with cold email and LinkedIn.
