How to export Apollo contacts to Salesforce

Short answer

Export the Apollo contacts with Scrupp, which finds work emails and phone numbers itself, download the list as CSV, and import it into Salesforce with its own CSV import. There is no Salesforce app to install: the file is the hand-off.

From Apollo to Salesforce

  1. Step 1

    Open your Apollo people search

Set the filters in Apollo’s People search as you normally would, or open a saved search.

  2. Step 2

    Click the Scrupp button

With the Scrupp Chrome extension installed, click its button on the Apollo results. Scrupp collects the people and finds emails and phones with its own lookup, so Apollo export credits are not used.

  3. Step 3

Check the list in your workspace

The rows come back with name, title, company, LinkedIn URL and the work email and phone Scrupp found. Repeated people are flagged.

  4. Step 4

    Import the file into Salesforce

In Salesforce, open Setup → Data Import Wizard, pick Leads (or Accounts and Contacts), upload the CSV and map name, title, company, email and phone to Salesforce fields. Scrupp has no native Salesforce connector, so the file import (or Zapier) is the route.

Columns you map in Salesforce

Each row is one person. The export carries these columns, plus a few more you can leave unmapped:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Job title
  • Company
  • Company domain
  • LinkedIn URL
  • Work email
  • Phone

Before you import

  • In the wizard, set matching to Email and choose whether to add new records, update existing ones, or both, so leads you already have are not duplicated.
  • Test on ten rows first, open two or three records in Salesforce and check the fields landed where you expected.
  • The emails and phones in the file are the ones Scrupp found, not Apollo’s. Rows where nothing was found keep the person without a contact.

Questions about Apollo to Salesforce

Does this use my Apollo export credits?

No. Scrupp reads the people in your Apollo search and finds the emails and phones itself, so Apollo’s own export and reveal credits are not spent.

Does Scrupp have a native Salesforce integration?

No. Scrupp exports CSV, Excel or JSON, and Salesforce imports the file. Native pushes exist only for HubSpot and Pipedrive.

What does it cost?

Exporting a lead costs 1 credit, plus 1 credit when a work email is found and 2 when a phone number is delivered. Nothing extra is charged for contacts not found. The free plan gives 100 credits a month with no credit card.

Will every row have an email?

No. Across Scrupp exports a work email is found for 36.3% of people, and the share in your list depends on who is in it. Rows with nothing found are still in the file.
