How to upload a CSV account list to Sales Navigator

Short answer

On Sales Navigator Advanced or Advanced Plus, open the My Current Accounts list on the homepage, upload a CSV of your target companies, and save the matched accounts as a list. Then filter a lead search by that account list to see the right people at those companies, and export the search with Scrupp to get their work emails and phone numbers.

From a spreadsheet of companies to a list of leads

  1. Step 1

    Prepare the CSV

Export your target accounts from the CRM or a spreadsheet as CSV, one company per row. Include the company name and website: the more precise the identifiers, the better LinkedIn matches each row to a company page.

  2. Step 2

    Upload it in Sales Navigator

On the Sales Navigator homepage, open the My Current Accounts list and upload the file. This is available on Advanced and Advanced Plus. LinkedIn’s guide mentions up to 1,000 accounts per upload.

  3. Step 3

    Check the match rate

Run the match rate report after the upload. It shows which rows matched a company with high confidence and which failed, so you can fix names or websites and upload the misses again.

  4. Step 4

Save the accounts as a list

Save the matched accounts to an account list you can reuse in searches.

  5. Step 5

Search for leads at those accounts

In a lead search, add the account list as a filter, then set function, seniority and title keywords for the people you want.

  6. Step 6

    Export the leads with emails

With the Scrupp Chrome extension installed, click its button on the lead search. Scrupp returns each person with the work email and phone number it finds. Sales Navigator stops a search at 2,500 results; Scrupp exports more than that from the same search.

No upload? Build the list by hand or skip it

Core has no CSV upload. You can still save companies to an account list one by one from their company pages, or skip the list and search leads by company name with the Current company filter. For a few dozen companies that is quick; for hundreds, the upload on Advanced saves the work.

If you already have the people and only need their contacts, you do not need Sales Navigator for this at all: upload your CSV to Scrupp and enrich it with emails and phones.

Questions about account list uploads

Which Sales Navigator plans can upload a CSV of accounts?

LinkedIn says Advanced and Advanced Plus licence holders can upload accounts through the My Current Accounts list. Core does not have the upload.

How many accounts can I upload at once?

LinkedIn’s community guide mentions up to 1,000 accounts per upload. Split a larger list into several files.

Can I upload a CSV of people instead of companies?

The upload creates an account list of companies. To get people, filter a lead search by that account list and save or export the leads.

How do I get the emails of the leads at those accounts?

Export the lead search with the Scrupp Chrome extension. Scrupp returns each person with the work email and phone number it finds; a work email is found for 36.3% of people across Scrupp exports.
